I wrote another book.

Okay, so maybe this is considered bragging, but since nobody reads this blog anyways besides Jassy and Arika, I don't feel too bad.

Anyway, I totally wrote another book this past week. In other words, I started this book on January 21 and ended it today January 27, 2013.  I wrote 55,429 words in 7 days. That is an average of *Pulls up nifty laptop calculator* 7,918 words a day. Not that i followed that average.

Some days it was only 5,000, and other days it was 13,000. For example, today I wrote 12,113. That was because on Friday i didn't write anything. I felt bad, but not too bad because i was sick. Heck, I am still sick.

But, I still wrote 55,000+ words. So, think on that writer's block.

In truth, I honestly don't believe in writer's block. I believe in "I'm a lazy person" block, and "I wrote something in the wrong way and now my imaginary friends won't let me forget it" block. But never do I think for one second that a true writer can sit down at the computer and not know what they need to type.

I used to be very lazy. Heck, I'm still very lazy, but i do know that I have a story to write and I have to get past being lazy.

How do I do it?  Well, for one thing, I make sure that I can acutlaly write as much as I want to during the day. In order to write a book a week, I told myself that I had to write 3 chapters (from 2,500-3,000 words each) every day. (My novels tend to be about 50,000-55,000 words long)

When I was really into writing during my Senior year, I found that I could easily write two chapters a day. Well, if I could write two chapters a day, surely three wouldn't be so bad. Think again.

It was hard. But, I honestly enjoyed every minute of it. I feel like my writing has gotten so much better. That is mainly because I realized that if I was going to write three chapters, I had to write what really mattered. I had to set times for me to write. I would spend anywhere from 35-95 minutes on each chapter. Eventually, I was able to be extremely nitpicky about my writing time.

My mom was (and is) amazing. She knows how much I love writing, and because of that, she put off asking me for help with everything she needed for hours at a time.

I guess my point is,
1. Know what you want to do and do it.
2. Literally, stick your but in a chair and just do it.
3. Find people (whether family or firends) who are supportive of you and are willing to help you achieve your goals.
4. Have a party every time you are able to accomplish a goal.

:D

I hope you have a great week.  I am going to go start writing the last book in a  SERIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I really want to sleep so my throat will get better.

First week of school...DONE

So I am done with my first week of school, and starting my second. I LOVE IT!!!! I am taking so many fun classes like ballet, archery, and wilderness first aid. I feel like I could go and live in the forest if the world ever started ending.

Well this will also be an interesting year because it is so COLD!!
(I finally understand the expression "so cold your nose hairs will freeze")
For the past few days here, we have easily gotten below 0. I think the coldest it got was -18 on Sunday, and I had to walk through that in a DRESS!!!!! I must be crazy.

Anyway because it is so cold, it snows almost everyday. So we will get theses lovely piles of snow in the middle of the road. I have had to twice help push and drive a car to get it out of the snow. The first was on Friday night with two of my friends from back home. We were going to the cheap theature to watch the new James Bond movie, and got stuck as we were turning into the parking lot. It was not fun as we were in the middle of the road. Luckily as Kevin and Ian pushed while I drove, we had some people get out of their vehicles and help.

The second time was when we were on our way back from picking up groceries and the car in front of us got stuck on the hill leading to the parking lot. We got out to help him, but it was below 0 and snowing. It was so cold!!!

I woke up this morning to find out the power was out too. It was below 0 outside, but luckily our apt was retaining the heat very well. Classes got cancelled until 11:30am. It was nice.

Well that's all I have for now. Until next time! :)

The end of an era

Ah New Years! A time of rebirth and new beginnings.
Well I had the time of my life in the Big Apple over New Years, and several thing have happened in the weeks following.
1. Well, I don't want to get ahead of myself, but I met someone. He's perfect in so many ways, and I think he's definitely worth pursuing.
2. Due to conflicts with school, I had to resign from my job. I thought for sure I wouldn't be doing that for another 8 months, but, well, it happened now, so now I am free from one prison and being sent into four months of solitary, haha!
3. But every dark cloud has a silver lining! Now that I'm not working in customer service, I don't have to worry about my appearance offending anybody! So now, I have blue streaks in my hair!!!!

If this is anything to go by, I'm hoping that 2013 will be much better than 2012 :)

2013 . . . . Good To Meet Ya

Hello 2013,

We meet, well not again, since that would silly, but rather, I feel like I've known you my entire life.  Although I am excited to see you and live through you, but at the same time, I am a little apprehensive.  Will every Friday the 13th be extra unlucky?
I just checked, there are two Friday the 13ths (September and December).  I suppose it's lucky that we don't have a thirteenth month right?
I will admit that I'm sad to leave the days of 11/11/11 or 12/12/12.  But then again, we will have 11/12/13 14:15::16.  In case you couldn't guess, the exact time of that is 2:15::16 (in the afternoon).

You could say that I'm ready for you. This is the year that I really become the person, not only that I'm meant to become, but the one that I want to become.  I'm ready!  Bring it on!
